Standing at the edge of the water on Martha’s Vineyard, I was struck by how the ocean didn’t just shimmer—it revealed. Each stone beneath the surface sat unhidden, touched by light, softened by time. The water wasn’t just blue or green—it was clear, completely and unapologetically itself. I snapped this photograph not only to remember the view, but to remember the feeling: that peace, when nothing is clouded and everything belongs.
For a while now, I’ve been drawn to clarity—not just in nature, but in my own mind and spirit. There’s something quietly powerful about living transparently. Being honest with yourself. Not performing. Not hiding. Like this sea, I want to be open, grounded, fluid—but not easily stirred. This water, for me, symbolizes that transparency is a form of strength. When you can see through the surface, beauty deepens. Nothing to prove. Nothing to fear. Just the truth of being.
Where Water Teaches Light
The water speaks in glass and gravel,
its language: light bent clean through time.
Stones lie in their ancient silence—
not hiding, not held—
just resting in what is.
A clear tide doesn’t shout.
It opens its palm, shows you
everything: the broken shell,
the perfect pebble,
your own reflection if you dare to look.
This is how I want to live—
not polished perfectly, but seen.
Let the sun reach my silences.
Let no fear frost my name.
Let each breath ring true.
What lies beneath is not shameful—
it is simply the ground of me.
Shifted by seasons,
salted by time,
yet still part of the shore.
I return to the ocean to remember
what I forget in the noise.
That clarity is not a luxury,
but a rhythm—
and I was born of water.

In an effort to reduce our impact on the oceans and beaches we all love, your art prints and wearable art will be crafted upon your order. Deliveries can take from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. Do you ship internationally?
Canvases, fine art paper prints, and murals can be rolled and packaged by art specialists for safe transport during shipping. You will receive detailed tracking information and will be able to view updates along the way. Shipping is within the United States.
