The noise of modern life gathers on us,
even at the shoreline.
So you enter the water
to let the day fall away—
the notifications, the urgency,
the weight of a world that rarely stops asking.
You come here by choice,
to the coast that has become part of your own language,
and let salt water move across your skin
until the clutter begins to loosen.
You surrender into its swell,
letting its immense force carry you into motion.
You lean into its movement,
feel its immense body moving against yours,
and find the grace in yielding
without becoming small.
Sometimes you push directly into the current,
your muscles answering its force with your own.
The water resists.
You resist back.
And somewhere between surrender and strength,
the boundary begins to dissolve—
your breath, your body, the moving sea
no longer separate things,
but part of one continuous motion.
Perhaps this is the first form of grace:
to know when to yield,
when to stand your ground,
and when to let yourself become
part of something greater than yourself.
