The Goddess of Pearls stands before you at golden hour, her iridescent gown catching the last light like ocean tides shimmering at dusk. She is the embodiment of awe and reverence—rooted in the sacred connections within African American mythology that weave together the sea, motherhood, and transformation.

Through this portrayal, I sought to render her not just as a mythic figure but as a bridge between the vast, unseen depths of the sea and our everyday human experience. She calls us to remember what is holy in nature and heritage, to honor the beauty, power, and resilience that shape us—and to find wonder in the spiritual currents flowing beneath the surface of our lives.
