When I took this photograph, it felt like the horizon was not just a line but a threshold—a place where the sea carried the quiet weight of day while the sky burned itself into memory. Standing there, I felt how light bends time, how color can hold both endings and beginnings at once. The orange flare stretched like an ancient script across the heavens, reminding me that the world is still capable of surprise, still capable of teaching us reverence when we stop long enough to watch. The ocean leans into silence,
yet the sky refuses stillness—
it unravels itself in flame,
a testament to becoming.
Clouds carry embers in their palms,
a hush of violet smolders beneath,
every shade a language
we forgot we once could speak.
On the rocks, shadows gather,
listening to the waves retell
the stories of those
who once trusted horizons.
And I, small against it all,
am lifted by this light—
a quiet witness to the hour
when fire and water find kinship.
