Under the Rainbow on Surf Drive Beach captures a full, radiant arc of color stretching majestically across the sky over Falmouth, Massachusetts. The rainbow emerges vibrantly from both ends of the horizon—one foot rooted in the seaside homes of the shoreline, the other fading into the open Atlantic. A faint secondary arc hovers above, echoing the magic of the first. The ocean beneath lies calm, its muted blues and greens reflecting the quiet after a passing storm. The sky is a soft wash of cloud and light, as if the earth and heavens have momentarily agreed on stillness.

There are rare moments when nature stages a quiet miracle—and I felt that this moment was one of them. The photograph freezes a fleeting instance when color blooms across a sky still damp with rain, drawing a perfect arc above the sea. It’s the kind of moment that halts your breath, grounding you in something ancient and inexplicably reassuring. Here, the spectrum isn’t just light scattered—it’s a symbol of resilience, of weathering the storm and standing in the light that follows. There’s a gentle symmetry between the curve of the rainbow and the bend of the shore, echoing the idea that beauty and balance often arrive unannounced.

To me, this image was more than just a record of a weather event; it was an emotional geography. The distant homes along the beach seem humbled beneath the vibrant sky, as if in reverent awe. I too, becomes a quiet witness—invited not just to see, but to feel. To stand under this celestial bridge is to be reminded that wonder is always just above the horizon, waiting for the right light to reveal it. In this still frame, the world softens, and for a moment, every storm seems worth it.
