The morning opened through the cracks of the earth, where stone met sunlight in quiet conversation. I stood beside the weathered rock, its rough face glowing as if it had waited centuries for this warmth. There was something deeply human in that—how time wears us down, yet the light still finds a way in. The sea shimmered beyond, gentle and infinite, but my eyes lingered on the rock’s rugged skin, learning again that beauty isn’t only what shines—it’s also what endures.
Poem — “Cracked Earth, Living Light”
The rock leans into morning,
its fractured skin
catching gold at the edges—
proof that even the broken
can burn with grace.
Beneath it, the sand whispers
of tides that never tire,
each wave smoothing
the sharpest memories
into song.
The sea holds the sky’s reflection,
folding light into motion—
a thousand silvers and blues
stitched with the breath
of the sun.
I trace the fault lines
with my eyes,
finding in their roughness
a map of every time
I thought I’d fade.
Yet here I stand,
in the glow of the new day,
where cracked earth and water
speak the same truth—
that beauty survives.
