Poem: She Who Listens to Stars
She closes her eyes,
not to escape,
but to feel the pulse
of moon-drenched water
whispering through her skin.
Stars gather
along her collarbone and cheek—
bright confessions
drawn to the stillness
of her knowing breath.
Braids curve like rivers
mapping her peace,
each strand a hymn
to the women before her
who also carried oceans.
A shell on her shoulder
marks her as keeper
of deep things—
tidal stories,
secrets polished by moonlight.
She does not wait
for light to find her.
She carries it,
gracefully,
as if born from sky.
