Blog: Moshup Beach After Glow

There are moments when earth's elements surprises you—I took this photograph during the winter of 2022, while walking toward Moshup Beach, just as the sun began its descent. The pond was frozen, the grasses encased in glassy stillness, and the sky exploded into shades of lavender, rose, and gold. The contrast stopped me in my tracks. This wasn’t just a sunset—it felt like the earth was holding its breath with color and light.

I'm grateful to share this moment. To capture it through my lens and offer it back to the world feels like a small act of communion. So much beauty goes unseen or unnamed, but here, for a flicker of time, I witnessed harmony—ice and fire, stillness and glow, dusk and day’s last light meeting without resistance. May it bring you a little awe, a little warmth, wherever you are.

 After Glow

the ice does not crack,
it listens—
to the sky spilling its wild heart
onto the hush of pondwater
where nothing needs to move

grasses rise like prayers
held in glass
their stems thin with memory
but still they reach
still they burn

the sun leaves in silence
but not without leaving a trace
pink bruises across the clouds
a gold breath caught
between yes and goodbye

this moment—
a breath I didn’t know I was holding
the quiet kind of miracle
where nothing shouts
yet everything matters

you were not here,
and still you were—
in the way the light
touched everything
knowing you would grant permission
